LEGAL STATUS AND RESTRICTIONS
The Discovera app is intended solely for documentation and educational purposes and does not encourage breaking the law.
Where metal detectors must not be used
- Cultural heritage sites and archaeological monuments.
- Burial grounds, national parks, nature reserves, and other protected natural areas.
- Private land without the owner's explicit permission.
- Military installations and other restricted-access sites.
Liability
In many countries, including the Russian Federation, the illegal search for and removal of archaeological objects carries criminal and administrative liability (in Russia, this includes Article 243.2 of the Criminal Code). Archaeological objects are generally considered state property and must be handed over to the state through the legally established procedure.
Important
- The app **is not** a marketplace. Selling archaeological finds is prohibited by law in many countries.
- In-game coins have no real monetary value and cannot be exchanged for real money or other valuables.
- Users are fully responsible for complying with local laws when using a metal detector and choosing where to search.
